Letter From the Chief

On behalf of the 84 professional men and women that serve the citizens of the City of Vista and the Vista Fire Protection District, I welcome you to the Vista Fire Department web page. Here you will find both statistical as well as anecdotal information regarding the department. The City of Vista Fire Department is a full service fire department providing services ranging from fire prevention and suppression, to emergency medical services, to technical rescue and hazardous materials mitigation.

Operating from 4 strategically located stations, the Vista Fire Department provides the highest quality of service to both residents and visitors. We responded to over 8600 calls last year, making Vista Fire Department one of the busiest departments in north county.

Having recently completed our Standard of Cover study and our first Long Range Strategic Plan, we have embarked upon a journey of self-improvement with the end product being an Accredited Agency.

We have strived to provide you with information that is most frequently requested, and I hope you find this page easy to navigate. As always, if you see ways we can make your experience here on our page better, please do not hesitate to let us know by contacting any of the members of the department. Be safe.

Gary Fisher,
Fire Chief
