Construction and Development Services

Construction and Development Services section is responsible for ensuring that structures and fire protection systems adhere to minimum standards to safeguard life, health, property and public welfare. This is accomplished through building plan check, issuance of system installation permits and inspection of buildings and fire protection systems to ensure compliance with local and state laws.

In addition, the Construction and Development Services section represents the Fire Department at pre-application meetings with developers to provide fire and life safety related requirements for proposed projects.

Development Services Center, Located at City Hall, provides one-stop permitting for development customers. The development services center is the initial point of contact for information pertaining to development issues requiring Fire Department plan review and for permit applications.

Development Services is administered by an Assistant Fire Marshal.
